Reduce intake of sugary drinks and snacks

The amount of times you have sugary foods is perhaps more important than the sugar content of each item

Try to limit the number of times you, and your family, have high sugar foods and drinks.

Try to keep sugary foods and drinks to meal times only - avoiding snacks between meals if at all possible.

• Try healthy snacks such as fresh fruit, plain yoghurts, cheese and bread.

• Milk and water are the most tooth-friendly drinks.

• Remember - ‘Diet’ or ‘no added sugar’ labels do not mean the food or drink is sugar-free.
